Foresty in Corlarach

We are proud to have constructed a new forest road for Forestry & Land Scotland. The works include forwarder track and various harvesting facilities near Dunoon, allowing easy access for felling and extraction of timber, aiding local industries and helping Scotland's economy.

The timber industry accounts for £285 million and provides 30,000 jobs across the wood production, forest management, haulage and processing sectors. The timber is used for house building, fencing, paper and bio-fuel all over the country and beyond.

Forestry & Land Scotland centre sustainability in their practice, and for every tree felled, more are planted. They carefully monitor our forests to keep them healthy and looking great while acting as an excellent place for wildlife to live. They are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Promoting Sustainable Forest Management (PSFM).

The forest provides stunning views over the Firth of Clyde and Loch Striven and is an excellent place for walkers. Corlarach means' common pasture', a place for the local community to keep and graze livestock. It's no longer a place where you'll find cows and sheep, but if you're lucky, you might spot a deer, grouse, or bird of prey.

We aim to carry out the project with minimal environmental impact to the area. At MAM Contracting, our team is always mindful and conscientious that our work adds to the community rather than takes from it. We are pleased to be working alongside Forestry & Land Scotland to support their programmes incorporating conservation, biodiversity, tourism and renewable energy.
