Bridge Construction In Tealing, Scotland

Our team has recently completed a contract in Tealing, near Dundee. We were employed by SSE to design and install a new bridge crossing over the Tealing Burn so that the new transformers could be transported to the substation. SSE is an energy supplier that provides millions of homes all across the UK with energy, phone and broadband, who are always looking to extend their sustainability programme. Their aim is to bring clean, efficient and sustainable energy to all.

The substation is currently undergoing a large expansion, enabling it to bring the power from the new Off-shore Wind Farm and putting it into the main grid. MAM Contracting have delivered the project within the programme and budget, despite dealing with COVID-19 restrictions and winter working.

The works had highly sensitive environmental constraints as well as worked alongside an extremely busy access road to the main substation site. Still, MAM is happy to report there were no incidents throughout, and we were able to deliver to our personal high standards in a timely fashion.

Credit to all our workforce who have worked on the project over the past few months. We are proud of their consistent efforts to remain conscientious and efficient even in the face of difficulties such as the pandemic and other constraining factors.

As always, MAM Contracting couldn't have completed this contract without the help of our extended teams.  For this project, we thank Campbell of Doune (Design), Beaver Bridges (Bridge Hire/Installation) and Breedon Contracting (Surfacing).
